So I just finished the first love scene in my current WIP, Obsessed. Yes, this was my Nano novel that I wasn't able to finish. Hey...Give me a break, okay? I did manage to write 25k in ten days. Then competition season started and I got a little sidetracked. I've also been editing my first two manuscripts, both of which are currently under review, so bite me!
Okay, defensive mini-rant: over.
Back to the sexy times. When I first started writing with the intent to publish, the idea of typing out a love scene seemed a little daunting. My style leans toward snarky with a whole lot of smart ass thrown in the mix, and I worried how I'd go from that to serious, hot and shmexy. How steamy would I make the scenes? Closed door? Sweet, or downright racy? I'm a panster, so when I write, though I have a rough idea of where the story is going, I never really know what's going to end up on the page. I can't tell you how many times I've fought with my characters, wanting them to do one thing, while they insist on going a different route. Sigh...Pushy bastards!
Anyway, I digress...One thing all my characters seem to have in common is heat. The people living inside my head are a bunch of horny, sex-starved maniacs. I'm a shy, quiet girl, so you can imagine how funny this seems to me. Lol, it's the shy quiet ones you have to look out for, hahaha! So yeah, I can write passion well, but I love a HEA (Happily Ever After) and while my characters often enjoy some rip-roaring times between the sheets, it's the love story that truly takes a front row seat.
What do you prefer? Romance with a little nookie? Hot and heavy with a little "Bow-chick-a-wow-wow" thrown in? Or maybe you don't care for either and prefer a good maintenance manual. Chime in with your thoughts! Have a great day!

My style? Remember the scene in Lover Eternal with Rhage, the girl (whatever her damn name was--who cares), and the beast? Yeah. That rocked. LOL
