Song of the day- The Humpty Dance by Digital Underground (Sorry, I couldn't resist, lol.)
So, last week I posted a list of books I want to read over the next few months. Clearly, I need to learn to pace myself. A mere week has gone by and I've already tackled one story and am halfway through another. Must. Read. Slower.
After reading several reviews and listening to a lot of buzz, I decided to read:
Let me tell you, I wasn't disappointed. It had been a while since I'd read a YA. In fact, my last YA was Breaking Dawn if that tells you anything.
SHIVER is a beautifully written tale about a girl (Grace) and the wolf she loves (Sam.) Yes, it's a shifter story. And no, the werewolves are nothing like the ones you've seen on the big screen recently. Maggie Stiefvater's take on werewolves is fresh and new and entirely enjoyable. The romance was sweet, and heartbreaking and I found myself wishing the story wouldn't end. This book is definitely a "Git yo ass off the couch and go buy it" book. You won't be sorry.
I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment:
In other news, I'm happy to say things are moving right along with Eve Of Samhain. I've been receiving multiple emails full of excited squee-age (yes, I just made that word up), and several hints about how cool the cover is going to be. Gah! I can't wait!
On to the video. Yeah, yeah, I know you've seen it everywhere, but I'm posting it here anyway. Betty White's NPR skit, and one of my favorites- The Delicious Dish :)
Oh yeah! There's only three days left to enter my 100 follower challenge and giveaway. Not sure what that is? Check out the link at the top of the page. I need roughly thirty more followers to reach my goal. Help a girl out, people! Spread the word!
Happy Wednesday, peeps!
